Growing up in Durham, I remember visiting Charlotte region family and thinking I’d live there one day. Now, 20-plus years later, I think I can say I’m a Charlotte area native.

After earning a Bachelor of Arts in English at Belmont Abbey College in 2000, I jumped into the newspaper/media world. My past professional life consisted of The Gaston Gazette (15+ years) in the sports department and The Charlotte Observer/The McClatchy Company (6 years). I designed and edited national newspapers while writing news stories for Axios Charlotte, The Charleston Post and Courier, and Outsider.com.

Now I’m happy with a new opportunity in communications with TH Management. Commercial real estate is a lucrative business in one of the fastest-growing places in the country, and I learn daily. I like to read about current events, sports, and history during my downtime. Also, I’m a beginner backyard chicken farmer with my expert chicken farmer wife and two daughters. Somehow, we have six chickens.

Fun Facts:

  • Most thankful for: My wife, my two daughters, and my church family.
  • Favorite books: Catch 22, One Train Later by Andy Summers of The Police.
  • Favorite vacation: Nebraska and the Midwest, quick trips to Carolina waterfalls and beaches.
  • Dog or cat person? Cat person. We’ve got an outside black cat named Denzel Cattington, or Denzy, for short. A tribute to the legendary actor, of course.
